christmas...

kerstavond is hier steeds een echt familiegebeuren...met steeds een plekje voor iemand die op dat moment niet weet waar heen... zoonlief bracht traditiegetrouw weer een niet echt verwachtte gast mee :-) ... doet me deugd dat ze aanvoelen dat dit steeds kan...

christmas evening is reserved for a family evening... there's always place for somehow who's alone at that moment... my youngest son brought an unexpected guest :-) ... but it feels good that they know that such is possible...









jongste met zijn vriendinnetje, Laura, Joda (onze geadopteerde kater) en oudste met zijn vrouw en kleine Iva...

my youngest with his girlfriend, Laura, Joda (our adopted cat) and the oldest with his wife and little Iva...

ik kreeg heel leuke pakjes ;-) ... dochterlief sponsorde met een mooi bedragje mijn nieuwe laptop,
verder kreeg ik een geschenkbon waar ik wat kalligrafiemateriaal kan mee kopen, Flutro gaf een bon voor een workshop die ik binnenkort wil volgen en van vriendin Ellis kreeg ik de prachtige handgemaakte doosje met kadoolabeltjes.... dus heel veel reden om blij te zijn en misschien ben ik het meest blij met de warmte die deze mensen me geven ...

I recieved very nice package... Laura sponsered my new laptop, a giftcard to spend on new calligraphy materials, Flutro gived me a voucher for a workshop that I'll follow and my friend Ellis made this wonderful box for me with labels... many reasons to be happy... but the thing that makes me th most happy is the friendship and connection with this people...





en kerstdag was een mooie , koude, zonnige dag...tijd om te gaan wandelen met Iva en mijn vader(97) een bezoekje te brengen...

and christmasday was a beautiful, cold but sunny winterday...time to go walking with Iva en visit my father (he's 97)...




ik hoop dat jullie ook een fijne kerst hadden...

de kerstdagen waren heerlijk... Laura was de fotograaf van dienst dus het is nog even wachten, tot ze de foto's op mijn pc'tje zet... maar ze zijn in aantocht ...

ondanks de kerstdrukte was er ook veel knutseltijd en plezier...

and even though it was christmas we spend a lot of time on crafting...

painting the ceramique tree for waxinelights...

felting for my collection 'couleurs locale, couleurs fatale' ...

making wooden beads for my jewelry...

so this was realy fun time :-)

ja de kerstsfeer begint er te komen, de boom is af , er is zelfs sneeuw, pakjes liggen hier en daar nog te wachten om mooi verpakt te worden.... en toch denk ik vaak aan al die mensen die nu alleen zijn geen plek hebben waar heen te gaan, verkleumd de kerstnacht zullen doorbrengen...
de voorbije jaren zat er telkens een onverwachte gast aan onze tafel, iemand die op die dag niet wist waarheen, voor wie het echt geen kerst hoefde te zijn... en misschien ben ik dit jaar te veel bezig geweest met eigen beslommeringen, maar voor het eerst zijn we 'gewoon familie' : de kids met of zonder liefje ( en ik bedenk nu dat Laura misschien diegene is voor wie het dit jaar niet echt kerst hoeft te zijn, na een plotse breuk met haar vriendje, viert ze dit jaar alleen kerst), Iva (die met haar anderhalf jaar zeker weer de show steelt) 'flutro' (voor wie dit alles binnen ons gezin ook nieuw is ) en ik... en ik heb me maar één ding voorgenomen, geen ingewikkelde stresstoestanden, maar genieten van de dingen die zich aandienen... gewoon 'samen zijn'...



nearly christmas and yes the house feels like christmas, the tree is finish, there's even snow and presents are waiting to be packed... and still I must think on all those people who don't have a place to go, who're lonely and waiting in the cold and dark till chrsitmas past by... the past years we had on christmas some-one in the house who was in a difficult situation and had no place to go on those days, mostly people who felted so lonely that at that moment every day was difficult... and this year, I don't know why, we're for the first time just family... the kids (and maybe it's Laura, who broken up with her boyfriend, the one, who doesn't want to celebrate christmas) and their lovers, little Iva, who's gonna steel the show, 'flutro' for him it's the first christmas in our family and me ... and I promise myself , no stress, no difficult menu's, only being togheter, making time to enjoy the moment ...

yes, I found the box with the lights and so we could finish the tree.... fun because it's 'yule' the day to celebrate the comeback of the light...from now on the days become longer... and on this day we make plans for the next year and we let go all the patterns wich fit no more in our lifes...so today you can make three wishes: one for yourself, one for friends or family and the last one for the univers...

so there are still the presents to pack, cards to write, thinking about food for christmasevening....
